My problem, which I have many times shared with my doctors, is I am always hungry. I do what I can to help myself-drink water, monitor my calorie intake, rest, walk when I can, and (chuckle chuckle) avoid stress. I really do try to eat healthy. I really to try to watch my weight.
BUT snacks are my downfall. Ice cream, candy, cookies, be gone–too many bad carbs. I have made a better choice – Mamma Chia’s New Chia Granola Clusters. Its 1500 mg of Omega-3s. 10 grams of protein, and 5 grams of fiber signal, “Be still, hunger pangs,” to me.
Now, to me, what I eat must taste good. I liked its BPA Free, Non GMO, kosher, organic descriptors. However, the 100% whole grains, gluten free, soy and dairy free ones, sent caution flags to the brain. One munch then another of a bag of vanilla almond told me I had no reason for concern.
What makes this particular granola? Ingredients like chia seeds, whole rolled oats, berries or nuts, honey and molasses make granola that every crunch taste good and also good for you.
Historical testimonial to chia seeds worth: Both the Maya and the Aztecs favored this grain.
Personal one: Avaricious (fancy word for humongously hungry) and unable to sleep, I grabbed a half cup snack of aromatic Cinnamon Pecan, my favorite, along with a bottle of water. It truly sated my appetite so I could go to sleep. Plus the best thing was ?its 120 calories, 15 g carbs didn’t overload my blood sugar.
