Review – Follow Your Heart Vegan Cheese

Canned goods, frozen foods, and boxed foods dominate supermarket shelves today. Of course, they are convenient. BUT are they as healthy as staples without chemical preservatives and additives? I remember fresh bakery bread. It got stale and hard quickly, but it tasted so-o heavenly. Today’s loafs of bread, virtually tasteless, get green and moldy.

Vegans do not believe in exploiting animals–meaning fish, fowl, meat products and byproducts even eggs and dairy in the strictest sense. They build their diet on planet life–meaning nuts, seeds, grain, fruit and vegetables. Not for me, you say. Not for me, I understand yet. You see I am a cheese lover and can’t imagine a life without cheese.

No grilled cheese sandwiches?

No cheese and cracker snacks?

No cheesy pasta dishes?

No cherry cheesecake desserts?

Invited by Live Healthy Follow Your Heart to sample some of its best new natural products, I agreed. I would decide for myself about organic, soy-free non-dairy cheeses as an alternative. To me it is all about good taste. Years ago non-dairy cheese cooked badly and worse tasted worse.















Time to serve up some food my style but with one difference each time. I use Follow Your Heart style cheese each time instead of my regular dairy deli cheese.

First: I cook my favorite Jersey girl breakfast, pork roll, eggs, American cheese, and onions with mustard on a bagel.

Next: I toss together small fresh veggies and provolone salad for later. I also cube some Garden Herb to snack on later.

Last: I prep dinner (bread and fry some cutlets, layer them between tomato gravy and mozzarella).











Truthfully, each of the Follow Your Heart products was not only a tasty but also a delicious alternative to the real cheeses I normally use. Honest! I could hardly tell the difference. Gluten-free, dairy-free, non-gmo, soy-free, vegan, made with filtered water, coconut oil, modified food starch, potato starch, spices, and natural plant-based flavors, my only complaint was that they melt poorly. American, provolone, mozzarella, and garden herb are available in blocks, slices, and snack size cuts.
