I love a good mystery. ?I love a good laugh. ?I get both at Sleuths Mystery Dinner Shows, 8267 International Drive, Orlando, Florida 32819. ?It is true repertoire theater open 365 days a year with a talented ensemble of actors and actresses, broad scripts well seasoned with clues and red herrings, audience interrogations, and cast improvisation. ?(See 11/17/2009, 2/25/2011, and 11//2012 posts.) ?It begs the question, “Whodunit?” ?Alas, as usual, mystery buff me guessed wrong.

Sunday hubby suggested we get reservations to?Holidaze?Mother’s Day. ?What an appropriate timely title! ?It begs the question, “Whodunit?”

A bit about?Holidaze?with strictly no spoilers:
Charming, down to earth, small town?Hillendale?is in the running for Town of the Year. ?Styles McQueen, formerly homey Eugene Knickerbocker, ?star host of reality TV show America’s got Spunked is bludgeoned to death before he can announce the winner. ?Suspects include Mayor Francis Morgan Rockwell, beauty contestant Leeanne?Derryberry, boyfriend another styles McQueen, and mama Maggie McQueen. Sheriff Knickerbocker ?(coincidentally the victim’s twin) is called on to investigate.

Lead actor Toby?Pruett?in the dual role of Eugene Knickerbocker and his sheriff brother brings humor, humility, and heart to the roll. ?I had the chance to chat with him briefly. ?His mother, his grandmother, and his grandfather, a radio broadcaster, helped him become a?professional par?excellance.

A full house, lively audience, tasty meals in ample portions, and a congenial attentive circle of travelers, educators, military, and young lovers at our table made Sunday evening a huge success. ?We all may have failed to solve the crime, but we had fun. ?Too few people say that after an evening out and the best thing for me is that I know that there will be more. ?Every visit to Sleuths gets better and better.

    1. Years ago I did a local one based on a Christie novel–very different because it was scripted and straight. Comparing Slueths to this–not better or worse but different.

  1. How fun! I have always wanted to go to a dinner theater, but haven’t yet had the chance! It looks and sounds like you all had a great time!

    1. We have done this many times as a couple, with family, with strangers. Table dynamics always comes into play and the personalities of the dinner guests.

    1. Parents Night Out–bravo for you. We took them when we could and it is something that builds good relationships.
