Lil Drug Store – DayQuil and NyQuil
No doubt about it October-May is flu season, and the media is predicting it will be a severe one. 22,048 cases were reported for the last three months of 2012 and 2013 has five months to go. Term this illness widespread if not a pandemic.
Experts have advised the aged and the ill with medical conditions like asthma, chronic URI, bronchitis, and pneumonia to get flu shots. Shots help but are no guarantee of influenza immunity because the flu bug rapidly changes.
Rapid and/or sudden temp changes are no good for me. Still the weather has been just that from the end of October through today. Record heat, record cold, record hurricane…roads impassable, stores closed, utility outages in a total electric home… need I say more?
I’m lucky to have medical and prescription insurance. But what about when I am away from home traveling? At times like that I resort to the local full service local drug store to guide me where to go, what to do, what to take. If I must be sick, please let it happen with me experiencing a milder case, avoiding complications, and feeling better. Then I read every bit of printed information both outside and inside the box and make a followup call to my family doctor if I have questions.
As a toddler, my mother used Vicks Vapo-Rub and Vicks Inhaler Stick on me at the first sniffle. Decades later I remember and trust the name. Cold and Flu Vicks DayQuil (available in 2 and 8 liquicap sizes) relieves symptoms of aches, fever, sore throat, nasal congestion, and cough. Cold and Flu Vicks NyQuil (also available in 2 and 8 liquicap sizes) relieves symptoms of aches, fever, sore throat, sneezing, runny nose, and cough. Warning: Although NyQuil is not a sleeping pill, it is an antihistamine pain reliever that may cause drowsiness.
Available online and in stores nationwide, Lil Drug Stor DayQuil and NyQuil (SMRP of $1.29 for in the 2 liquicap size and $3.98 for the 8 liquicap size) relieves cold and flu symptoms.
