Highlights From The New York Times Travel Show – Focus On Atlantic City
Recently I attended the New York times Travel Show at the Javitz Center in New York City. The show had a focus on Atlantic City. It has been more than three months since Hurricane Sandy devastated the Jersey Shore, but the whole area is making giant strides toward full recovery. Atlantic City remains open for business. Its boardwalk is intact. Its shopping, dining, spas, beach and gaming are better than ever. 2013 should be exciting. Just look at what is happening.
ARTLANTIC, five multi-phased public art installations, opens June 20, 2013 with Lance Fung as curator. This $10,000,000 public art program designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects is adjacent to the Boardwalk between Florida and Bellevue Avenues.
The “Do Anything, Do Everything, Do AC” campaign continues to promote casino hotels, convention center facilities, and Historic Boardwalk Hall.
New Casino Revel is open. Borgata, the Atlantic City Hotel and Casino, the Golden Nugget, and the Trump Taj Mahal are renovated.
Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville at Resorts Casino Hotel opens in May.
The Eleventh Annual Atlantic City Airshow is set for June 26, 2013.
Caesar’s, Revel Beach, Chickie’s & Pete’s, Broadway Burger Bar & Grill, Lick Candy Store, Bass Pro Shops, and The Walk are part of AC’s plans to expand.
Wow! A lot is going on.
