Genetics gave my own mother her fair light pale milk white skin that skipped me but passed on to my children then their offspring. Got to protect that pinkish-white derma that darkens with every exposure to the sun. Take it from me, a skin cancer survivor, everyone, young and old, fair and dark, has to protect the skin to avoid harmful sunburn or worse.
Ultraviolet radiation happens everywhere there is light–not only sunbathing on beaches and tanning beds. Be forewarned: the best protection is coverup and Aveeno Baby Continuous Protection Sunscreen Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 55 is the best. Mild as water, fragrance free, with soothing oatmeal, sweat and water resistant, it’s pediatrician recommended.
I was once a girl scout who learned, “Be prepared.” Spontaneous BBQ’s, pool parties, and outdoor play fun, no problem here. My kids and their kids know where the Alveeno sunscreen is in my medicine cabinet–right next to Aveeno Fragrance Free Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash and Aveeno Fragrance free Soothing Relief Moisture Cream with paraben-free active natural ingredients like oat extract and colloidal oatmeal.
FYI: Not only babies have sensitive, delicate, skin. Some people never outgrow it. I know from personal experience. I stock allergy-tested, gentle, fragrance-free, eczema friendly, moisturizing Aveeno year round. They soothe to remove the sting and itch out of sun aged skin as well as cold weather and wind damaged skin.
Pediatrician Recommended Aveeno Baby (SMRP $5.75-$9.99) products are available online and in food, drug and mass merchandisers nationwide. My suggested regime of sunscreen, creamy wash, moisture cream–all Aveeno–work for baby and me too. How about you?
