Kidfresh Frozen Meals Review

Kidfresh Spaghetti Loops Bolognese

When I received four coupons from the manufacturer for Kidfresh frozen meals, I immediately put these 100% natural convenient entrees on my shopping list. My first trip to my local supermarket was unsuccessful, so I used the store locator when I got back home. Boy was I disappointed when the locator showed that its Kidfresh vendors were all 50+ miles away! Next trip to the supermarket I asked about Kidfresh at the courtesy desk. Imagine my surprise when I went to the store this weekend and found the freezer shelves stocked with four different varieties of this product. I grabbed one of each.

I’ve noticed that most new items initially are priced high then drop as manufacturers advertise and offer coupons. The checkout register rang up each at $3.99. Cost is relative. Of course, total BPA-free and Phthalate-free packaging costs more than “non-green” as does any food made without artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives.

Kidfresh as a an all-in-one meal is healthy food. It provides protein, vegetables, vitamins, calcium, and fiber. It is good stuff–moderate in sodium, fat, saturated fat, 0g transfat, less than 400 calories, and optimal portions for children 4-8.

The Spaghetti Loops Bolognese was great. I tasted it myself before I served it to my grandchild. Its one half cup of vegetables (one/third MDR) had pureed tomatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, celery, and onions, but you would never know it by its rich ground beef meaty taste. I noticed the sauce was not as thick as most pasta ones. I figure children can chew and digest the meal easier that way. I personally thought the meal was a trifle bland, but some grated cheese easily fixed that for me.

Kidfresh comes in six varieties: Spaghetti Loops Bolognese, Muy Cheesey Quesadillas, Wagon Wheel Mac + Cheese, Totally Twisted Pasta and Meatballs, No Easy Cheesy Ravioli, and No Rainbow Rice + Chicken. My grandson loved his. He even asked me when I would cook for him again….
