Yoplait Fiber One Nonfat Yogurt Review

yoplait fiber one yogurt

My stomach has been acting up the last couple of days and things like chicken haven’t been sitting well on it. Traditionally foods like rice, pasta, and potatoes are not options for the moment. Why? I am a diabetic and must maintain my sugar levels without consuming too many processed carbohydrates. Dairy seems the best choice for my next meal, perhaps cottage cheese.

I do my morning errands then stop off at the local supermarket for necessities. As I walk through the refrigerated section, yogurt catches my eye–so many varieties. I am trying Yoplait Fiber One Yogurt as I received a coupon to try it.

I pick up a four pack of peach (cost $2.69). Its ingredients include real fruit, live and active cultures including L. acidophilus, Vitamin A and D, aspartame and other sweeteners. Next I read about its nutrition: 50 calories per four ounce serving, 5 grams fiber, 0 grams fat, and 3 grams protein.

At home I sample one of the containers. The yogurt tastes rich and sweet. The peach flavor is distinct but not overpowering. I can see and taste actual bits of the real fruit. Fiber One’s texture is smooth not runny. It is not overly sweet or bitter. I have been worried about the effect of fiber on my digestive system. My stomach is thankfully suffering no ill effects. I decide to have a second serving.

I plan to buy this yogurt again. Yoplait Fiber One Yogurt’s small size and packaging make it convenient for me to have as a quick snack wherever my travels may lead me. Other flavors include strawberry, vanilla, and key lime pie.

  1. Julie,

Diabetes is like pregnancy.  You either have it or not.  Pre-diabetic is the equiovalent of diabetes well under control with sugar level at the normal range circa 100.  Stres, illness, lack of exercise, poor diet choices all can push that number up.  Once it goes too high them more aggressive treatment follows.  Beware of diabetes,  It injures the body–especially eyesight, kidneys, and nerves.

  2. The Dr has told me that I am pre-diabetic.Sounds like Yoplait Fiber One yogurt would something for me to try out-curb the sweet tooth 🙂

  3. I’m glad the yogurt worked for you, Pat, and I hope you’re feeling better now. Yoplait Fiber One is my very favorite yogurt of any brand. I agree the peach is very tasty! My favorite is their Vanilla. It is so rich and creamy it almost tastes like pudding to me!
