Votre Vu Full Benefits Face Set Review

votre vu logo

Back in May I reviewed Votre Vu Mal-Ligne. I liked the product so much that I agreed to review samples of some of its Full Benefits line of skin products. I decided to wait for this road trips though. I knew would need some TLC and gentle pampering after long, hot days in the sun. I also knew that bigger containers don’t make it through checkpoint security. Samples are perfect for airline travel on the stretch home. Unfortunately though, they allow for only one trial application. I am sure continued use would produce more significant results.

This is my Votre Vu Facial step by step.

votre vu lait pour le visage

Step #1: Cleanse with Lait Pour Le Visage. I follow directions and apply the milk to my face, neck, and decollete (French for lower neckline). I massage upward in circles. I soak a washrag in warm water and rinse then rerinse. Grime from what I thought was clean skin is visible on the cloth. I know what dirt and bacteria can do to pores so I appreciate how well Lait Pour Le Visage works.

votre vu antiaging tonic

Step #2: Apply Anti-Aging Tonic. I have to adapt the directions because it is midnight and I have no cotton. Instead I spray my skin a little section at a time then use a cotton mitt I packed in with my toiletries. A little more dirt shows against the white material. I am appalled at how my toilette has failed me.

votre vu enriched serum pour le visage

Step #3: Apply Enriched Serum Pour Le Visage. I put the serum on my fingertips and gently massage a small area of skin to check if it is suitable for my skin. With no problems apparent, I put more on my face, neck, and lower neckline. The lines and sagging remain visible.

votre vu in the pink

Step #4: Layer In The Pink Botanical Masque Pour Le Visage on clean skin. I avoid my eyes and lips and leave the mask on for fifteen minutes before rinsing with warm water and a washcloth twice. My skin feels smooth and clean, without any oily residue. I like that.

Step #5: Repeat #3. I feel relieved again as no dirt is visible.

votre vu creme du jour mature

Step #6: Apply Creme De Jour Mature Skin SPF 15. When I awaken up after a good night’s sleep, I apply Day Creme. It seems slippery to my touch. I ask hubby to feel my skin. He says my nose looks shiny and my cheek feels oily.

Step #6 Repeated: Enough is left in the sample for me to apply it again as sunblock. I walk all day in the warm California sun but don’t burn. My face still feels slippery; however, my face is not red from sun exposure. As a skin cancer survivor that is most important.

All in all, I would buy all the products except the Day Moisturizer. Over the years I have foregone most makeup and cosmetics. I never used moisturizer because of oily skin. Too bad its SPF isn’t higher. That is what I need now that I faithfully support sunblock.

  1. Pat,

I love hearing about others experiences when they try Votre Vu for the first time. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve been using Votre Vu products for the face, body and hair for about a year now and have seen so many positive results in how my skin looks and feels. I have used the Full Benefits line, the Best Regards line, the Attentive line and even the creme in the Peau Equilibree line. I have found that my skin has different needs throughout the year depending on the season, my “cycle”, humidity, etc. During the humid months of summer, I switched to one of our lighter cremes…either the Attentive or Peau Equilibree which as mentioned by others would probably be a better fit for you.

I look forward to hearing about your experience with your NEXT Votre Vu product/sample!

    All the best,

  2. Michelle,

I enjoyed my product samples.  I am sure I would have praised the line more had it been an extended trial rather than a one day trip o the home spa you gratioously offered me.

  3. Hi Pat,
Thank you so much for your review of our Full Benefits line. It is my favorite line as I use it daily.
I totally agree with Traci and know that our samples, just like our products are so concentrated that they should last about 3-5 days. The moisturizer is very concentrated and heavy because of the amazing and hard working ingredients. A very little goes along way. However, if your skin was feeling very oily, you may want to try our Attentive line moisturizer as it is lighter and feels wonderful. The full line of our tonic comes in a container which allows you to use a cotton ball or pad and gently press the tonic onto your skin to correct and balance the PH of your skin. It feels so refreshing.
The long term effects of the serum will be more noticable rather than immediate. However, our Les Sorbet is immediate and just received a nomination for best serum of 2009! So very exciting.

Thank you again and Happy Trails.

  4. What an interesting review! I agree with so much of what you write. A skin care routine does take time and consistency to work. I was a Mary Kay consultant and focused on my skin and it made such a difference. Sadly, I’ve gotten out of the habit and don’t do as much as I used to. I always recommend that people line up the products and items they need like cotton, on the bathroom counter so they can just grab, use, replace, grab, use, replace without pausing or thinking about what to do next. It goes so much faster! If there isn’t room on the counter, I’ve also put up a list of what goes on in what order, to make it easier. Especially in the morning, I need to have an easy way to get ready!

I like the appearance/packaging of the Votre Vu too.

  5. Bonjour Pat,
Great review, and smart thinking with the use of sample packs for short trips. As a lady of many decades, and an adorer of Votre Vu’s products, I have some simple suggestions for you. First, If you have oily skin, they have a wonderful Oily/troubled skin care regimen that stabilizes the complexion, instead of stripping it. It is the Peau Equilbree line, many peri-/menapausal or just “mature” ladies have loved it for saving their complexions. Secondly, for a full day in the sun, the French, and Dr’s rec is to use a sunblock, independent of your daily moisturizer. Votre Vu has a lovely sun block for face and body in their Self Preservation sun care line. Try the Les Sorbet at home.. it is out of this world! It tightens my saggy and puffy morning face like no other. Happy travels-Lilly

  6. Wow, that’s a lot of steps. Does it bother you how many steps there are? I need to do a better job of taking care of my skin.

  7. Traci,

Most of the security are great, kind, and considerate.  It is just that one in a hundred that spoils things.

    Pat.

  8. Hi Pat,

Happy Labor Day! Thank you for your review of our product line and I’m glad you liked it. I wanted to share a funny story. I can totally agree that the day moisturizer for this line can seem heavy – when I first started that was my thought too, until someone told me I put too much on my face. That packet has enough cream for 3 – 5 days! I was quite surprised so when I cut back, it was much better. This is one of those things where less is really more.

As for airport security, aren’t you glad you have a different profession? They just never seem very happy and where’s the fun in that?

    Thanks again!

  9. Nancy,

I loathe security checks even though I know why they exist.  A lot of it is the personnel.  But it is so contradictory from place to place.  They either treat you like real people or garbage.

    Pat.

  10. This sounds like a wondefrul pampering for the skin! How smart you were to keep these small size samples for your trip!
