I Love The Quality Of Blu-Ray
We have enjoyed our DVD-VCR recorder player for several years. Several months ago when my youngest came home on leave, he bought us a Playstation3. I’m not much for game systems. I prefer cards and board games. He told me we also could use it as a bluray player. So that is exactly what I did. It’s hard to believe how great the picture and sound on a bluray really are ?over a DVD disk or VCR tape. I watched Disney Nature Earth. I felt as if I were there seeing and hearing everything. Now if only I could figure out its electronics, I’ll use it for the other bluray movies we have in the house. I bet the Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy shows better second time around.
Courtney,
Blu-ray is the wave of the future. Planned obsolescence–vcr, dvd, now this. But it is fantastic.

I need to get a LCD still LOL but Blu-Ray is good? I am always nervous about getting new things. They always make something more new when I get the “new” lol
Kali,
We use a Playstation 3 as the blueray. am option….

I’m so glad you wrote about Blueray. I’m an “old school” mom and still have an ancient, but perfectly-running VCR player and one of the first DVD players they came out with years ago! I’ve been considering investing in a blueray, but hesitated because I wasn’t sure if the quality was worth the price of the unit as well as the higher priced dvds. Your post has reassured me 🙂
Nancy,
More costly than just a DVD but for a movie that will be watched and rewatched, it’s an investment.

Janet,
It is even better on a hi-def tv–believe.

I’ve never seen a blu-ray….I’m constantly amazed at the quality of high def tv. Especially for football. I feel like the players are in my family room – sometimes a bit scary!
I am glad to hear you enjoy Blu-Ray. We have not experienced it yet. I bet the nature shows are especially fabulous on it!
