Since I had stomach surgery, eating much meat has been difficult. Some would complain but not me. I love soup with a caveat, good homemade soup. New England Soup Factory Cookbook’s 100+ recipes don’t take a chef to make, but they are gourmet treats every gourmet cook should consider trying.

A variety of rich stocks, soups, chowders, old world meals in a bowl, childhood favorites, and cold soups are there along with sumptuous sandwiches and salads. I never have followed recipes closely until now. I do it the way my mother once did long ago with a pinch of this, a dab of that, a handful of something else. However, recipes are so simple to follow, why not attempt them as written maybe?
