I literally take thousands of pictures each year. Several containers stacked in an out-of-the way corner, several more stacked under the bed, a bookshelf of albums are tributes to old times and cameras with film. Newer digital photos take less physical space since they are either on discs or drives. Me I like show and tell moments. Luckily Shutterfly is around to help me out.
They say that one picture is worth a thousand words. I agree. But, when pictures and words come together as a fully bound, illustrated book, nothing could be better. My stories of Jersey’s POW/MIA Watchfire, the birth of a grandson, a visit with with a granddaughter recorded for posterity are a few of my visual reminders, moments in time that show easy.
Too bad I didn’t dabble in photography more when the kids were growing up. My short range plan is a keepsake photo book of magic moments with my Cali girl granddaughter. My long range plan is to make photo books for every member of the family with personal histories, milestones, and the people whose lives they touched.
Let this Disney-Sherman Brothers Song remind us to seize the moment.
Makin’ memories, makin’ memories, takin’ pictures is makin’ memories, catchin’ little pieces of time, makin’ ‘em yours and makin’ ‘em mine. Great vacations and graduations, we love to hold near and dear, and when we’re makin’ memories, happy days can reappear.
How bland and colorless life would be without them!
Photos on handbags, cups, dishes, clothes–so many ways to show them off. I really appreciate the special Frankenweenie trick-or-treat bag Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture and Shutterfly partnered on. It gave me food for thought. Customized sacks = unique, sturdy gift bags!!!!
I have been in situations where proud parents entertain for a lifetime guests with a lifetime of pictures. A Storytelling photo book is so much better. Its reader gets an edited version. TIP: check out Shutterfly’s Storytelling lab for better photography tips and design ideas and its sweet video.
