My first reaction while watching computer animated cartoon series 3-2-1 Penguins was that life lessons like sharing, not lying, not complaining should be emphasized more in other children’s television shows. Human perceptions grow from positive examples and a good work ethic. It is refreshing to see kids being kids instead of all-knowing miniature adults who rule the house and their parents.
Twins Jason and Michelle are spending summer with their grandmum in the Poconos. The pair are polite, respectful, and full of curiosity. They explore the attic and find pictures, a telescope, toys. Then when a play rocket ship flies then shrinks them in them, their adventures begin. Their interplanetary travel with four penguins Zidgel, Fidgel, Midgel, and Kevin shows how they solve problems by thinking things through and using life skills.
The perspective of 3-2-1 Penguins building on a moral dilemma while showing different perspectives, is not subtle. The golden rule rather than bible history is the basis for its proverbs and prayers. Jason and Michelle gain much in their experiences as they help the penguins thwart galactic enemy villain Cavitus, a hamster inside a robot suit. They make mistakes as do we all. That is how they learn an become better persons. Episodes center on positive qualities like generosity, fairness, diligence, sharing, helping, and self-control.
