Tom’s of Maine Natural Anticavity Flouride Toothpaste for Children Review

toms of maine silly strawberry toothpaste

To me, the habits of one’s lifetime begin at birth. Ah, for the sweet smell of anything! Yet the fact, pure and simple, is that sweets are addictive. Avoid them as much as humanly possible.

Responsible parents do not deliberately load children down with candy, cookies, soda, and rich desserts. Too much of any good thing is bad. Excess causes problems. Just look at the escalation in the numbers for diagnosis of childhood diabetes. It is time adults looked at reality and work to foster better health.

Dental checkups for me began as a toddler. I remember my first visit to the dentist back in WWII years. The man examined my mouth, complimented both my mother and me upon finding no cavities, then cleaned my teeth. I still remember the orange flavor 6.5 decades later. Toothpaste changed a lot since way back when.

Gone are the powders. Gone are the metal tubes. Out is natural. Out is harsh abrasives. In is whitening. In is fluoride. Toothpaste is even made specially for kids. This is a good thing. If pumps, new packaging, and colors help us to get those first teeth brushed, it builds a solid foundation for the habits of a lifetime.

This wife, mother, and grandmother loves the holidays. Each year I make a stocking for each member of the family. It includes gag items, trinkets, and toiletries. Always it includes a toothbrush and toothpaste. Now I just tested Tom’s of Maine Natural Anticavity Fluoride Toothpaste for Children in Silly Strawberry. Please note that it is available as well in a fluoride free version. Its MSR is $2.95. I would have included it had I known about it in December.

Tom’s has calcium and silica to gently clean teeth and fluoride to prevent cavities. When I read the label, I was pleased to see that ingredients do not include sugars hidden in words ending in ose and its flavor is from real fruit. FYI: This product is ADA accepted. It is even kosher. For more information go to www.tomsofmaine.com.

I am not waiting until Christmas either to get Tom’s for my youngest grandchild. I want to help promote good oral hygiene habits for a lifetime so I am sending some Tom’s for Children in her next caring box. This product is worth the try. To me, it is the smart way too.

I put a new toothbrush in each stocking, too! The strawberry flavor of this toothpaste sounds very refreshing!
