The freshness Air Bud World Pup featuring Buddy proves that it takes the right story to make the moments of fun shine. World Pup, the third Disney movie about athletically talented Buddy, is a heartwarming, kid friendly, timeless story. My whole family watched it with me. When it was over, we all agreed this one is guaranteed to entertain and amuse family audiences. Its rating is G.

I had just given my granddaughter, age three, the stuffed puppy Josh. She laughed, grabbed it, pointed to Buddy, the golden receiver racing across the television screen…. What more can I say when a non-animated full-length movie captures a little one’s attention? This film is 83 minutes of fun that youngsters will want to watch again and again. Watch the great stunts that real-life U. S. Women’s Soccer Team champions Brandi Chastain, Brianna Scurry, and Tisha Venturine perform on the screen.

Casting is solid and believable. Kevin Zegers (Josh Framm), Dale Midkiff (Dr. Patrick Sullivan), Caitlin Wachs ( Andrea Framm), Chilton Crane (Mrs. Jackie Framm), Brittany Paige Bouck (Emma Putter), Shayn Solberg (Tom Stewart), Miguel Sandoval (Coach Montoya), Chantal Strand (Tammy), and Duncan Regehr (Geoffrey Putter) perform their rolls well. Now for the Air Bud World Pup story.

Golden retriever Buddy not only plays great basketball and football but he also plays fantastic soccer. He and his young master Josh Framm make the coed school team. As the team heads into the state championship, trouble erupts. Buddy has fathered a litter of five which are kidnapped by dog catching posers. Buddy with the help of Josh and his girlfriend Emma rescue the pups, but without them on the field, their team is headed for a loss. They rush back to the soccer field seconds from the final whistle. Buddy saves the day.

The Special Edition DVD available online and in stores June 15, 2010, lists for $19.99. It includes a free Air Bud Sports Cinch Bag, The Buddies’ Sports Channel: Soccer Edition, and a behind the scenes production featurette.

I just adore the whole Air Bud movie franchise. It is good clean fun for the whole family. We just adore the adorable puppies and dogs and the story lines generally have a life lesson to learn. Gotta love Disney.
