Synopsis – Everyone loves a good love story. And we all love stories about how the love started and blossomed. This fun new book about dating, romance, love, and marriage, will make you laugh and make you cry, and is guaranteed to inspire you to renew that search for your soul mate or open your heart a little more to the one you already have. Read about how couples met, when “they knew”, good and bad dates, proposals, maintaining the relationship, second chances, and all the other ups and downs of love, romance and marriage.

I had to get my mind off my husband who was undergoing surgery. Luckily I brought my own reading along as the magazines in the facility left something to be desired. As I began reading selections from Chicken Soup for the Soul, True Love I thought about love and the changes it brings. It makes each of us truly what we are.

I delighted in Sheri Radford’s “The Wedding” detailing the tradition of a family heirloom handed down, a mishap, and a fiancee’s little white lie to save the day. I was awed by Jean Davidson’s wisdom at twenty in deciding “Sleepless Nights” were well worth any temporary hardship. Hubby and I made a similar commitment long ago never to go to sleep angry.

I chuckled at the reverse psychology Michael Jordan Segal found being applied to him in “The Counterproposal”. What logical reasoning his soon to be wife applied when he announced he was opting out of a wedding band! Her telling him she would opt out of changing her name brought a quick rethink.

As I was reading “What You Didn’t Know”, hubby’s doctor came out to tell me hubby was out of surgery, doing fine, and I could see him in a little while. Jamie Driggers reflections on marriage, its reality, its changes seemed so apropo. Her conclusion was, “But I’m glad I got into it, ” echoes mine. For better or worse, true love is what makes my world, at least, go around.

I recommend Chicken Soup for the Soul, True Love’s 101 heartwarming and humorous stories about dating, romance, love, and marriage. Its 393 pages of light reading  go fast.
