An Opportunity Gone By

stock prices newspaper

We know many people who hire out their housecleaning, lawn maintenance, and pool care. Those same people get contractors in for their carpentry, electric, and plumbing work. They take their cars to the dealership, book their vacations through a travel agent, and eat out more often than not.  $$$$

Hubby and I are both do it yourselfers – no project and portfolio management for us. It makes our money go further. We have more because we are spending less on services. Many call us cheap. We think of ourselves as frugal. It is all in the point of view.

Years ago we were given the opportunity to invest in a motion picture company. We declined because it would require us as investors to hire a broker to help us buy and sell stocks and securities. Our strategy put little faith in the likes of portfolio management men.

Too bad ppm software now available wasn’t around then. We might have done things differently. We might have been rich or not…. Given another chance we would not pass on Touchstone Pictures. Still, we are not crying about any spilled milk.

I am tight with what we have also. Hubby is retired and we manage with what we have, We always had a rule if we had to buy something we needed to pay cash, (except for a car and house Loan) we never owned any credit cards. We are yourselfers also.
