Last July 6, I posted a blog on the Season Five opener of The Closer. In case you did not know it, The Closer is the #1 ad supported cable TV show. Year after year its star Kyra Sedgwick is is a award-nominee for her performance in a dramatic series. I was invited to preview this season;’s premier, “The Big Bang”. You can see it for yourself Monday, July 12, 2010, at 9:00 PM (EST) on TNT. The summer season will have fifteen new episodes.
Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is still the lead detective of L. A.’s Major Crimes Division. Her marriage hasn’t changed her or her personal life much. She is still hard-nosed with people but soft on pets like her new cat. The new multi-million technological building that she has been forced to work in poises some problems for her. This heroine who hates change is forced to pick between adapting the building or adapting herself. Her choice makes for some amusing moments. I think most viewers will smile and chuckle as they watch the swanky new murder room disfunction. Electronic gizmos–are they the ultimate solution or the ultimate problem?
On the crime scene, as bodies are found without parts and human organs are missing, Johnson relies on her interrogation skills to track down the bad guys. Rumor has it that the boss she worked so well with is about to retire. Who will take his place and how will affect her and her division? Tune in to find out more.
Here’s a peek inside the sixth season premiere.

I absolutely love Kyra Sedgwick; and needless to say, her character Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is fantastic, funny, and so believable. I can’t wait for the season to begin.
