Last year my family raved about the personalized keepsakes they received for Christmas. The Hallmark DVD Greetings especially stole the show. This year Hallmark sent me one of my old favorites, ‘Twas The Night before Christmas, in a Recordable Storybook. Boy did reading the child centered tale describing “A Visit from Saint Nicholas” aloud, ever bring back childhood memories!
After all, Clement Clark Moore’s poem first published in 1822 defined the American Christmas tradition that still exists today. I remember memorizing every one of its 14 verses and 56 lines of rhymed couplets back in elementary school. Time is fleeting, but now my family, to whom I enjoy reading, can hear me reading it to them and remember family traditions and one who loves them more than words can tell.
The Night before Christmas is a board book illustrated by Joseph Adolphe that uses recordable voice-capture technology. Its result is classical but unique–personal with a homemade touch. SMRP for the Hallmark Recordable Storybook is $29.95 and can be found at Hallmark Gold Crown stores nationwide.
