For those of you who itemize, it is never to early to start collecting your receipts and organizing them. Allowable deductions with some offsets include: health insurance, doctor’s visits, hospitalization, medical tests, rx costs, and the one most people forget medical travel. So for those of you who have to drive miles for any of these, keep your gas bills and toll receipts, clock the miles from your house to your destination and back, then get the allowable cents per mile that IRS states is for your tax year. Then go for it.

Thanks so much for the reminder, I really only itemize medical receipts. I need to figure out what all I *can* itemize because I am sure I can do more.
