Sonny with a Chance, Volume One will be released on DVD August 25, 2009. This show premiered on the Disney channel in February and has become a tween audience hit. Demi Lovato stars as Sonny Manao, a girl who moves from Middletown, Wisconsin to Hollywood to follow her dream.
Sonny with a Chance is formatted as a show within a show. Sonny’s love/hate relationship with Chad Dylan Cooper (Sterling Knight), rivalry with Tawni Hart (Tiffany Thorton), and antics with fellow cast mates Nico Harris (Brandon Mychal Smith, Grady Mitchell (Doug Brochu, Zora Lancaster (Allisyn Ashley Arm), all bring smiles and laughter when she becomes the newest member of the comedy show So Random.
Good example, high ideals, and innocence can pay off. Viewers recognize Sonny as a friendly, caring, nice girl in typical relationships.
The first season’s early episodes, Sketchy Beginnings, West Coast Story, Sonny at the Falls, and Cheater Girls are hilarious. You will enjoy Sonny showing her talents in true slapstick fashion and physical humor. She steals a bee scene, competes to prove her show is better, is setup in the game of friendships, and tries the easy way until her conscience interferes.
Sonny with a Chance is good family fun. The only thing dirty about the show is how food flies. The character Sonny reminds me of one of the funniest commedians ever Lucille Ball. I wish there were programs like it still on prime time.
Here’s a look at the trailer.

When I was a child I was such a bookworm that I loved libraries. At that time I would have loved to “live” in a library. Since I became a librarian, my dream did come true!
