Years ago the electric company sold the public Gold Medallion Home service or, in other words, total electric homes. I bought mine back in 1969. Right after that the utility company helped me sponsor a party to help promote it much like the kind dealers have for candles, lingerie, and Tupperware. Forty years later my monthly bills are astronomical. Why don’t I convert? Well, my house has no ducting so putting in a furnace and vents would be very costly. Looking on the bright side, I can find one good thing about my electric radiator heating system, I do not have any furnace filters to change.

I about had a stroke after seeing our A/C bill last summer. This year we put in ceiling fans and that helped keep the cost down.

Birdie,
Our electric bill in the winter can hit $1,000 so I doubt that.

Tori,
I have one in almost every room. The air conditioner had to be minimized because of $$$$$–5* restaurants are less .

We had our windows replaced this past spring with energy efficient ones and our savings monthly are amazing! We were delighted!
