    Winning Readings,

In English plpacement is so important.  In some languages word order is not key.  What a difference between My dog bites the English teacher AND The English teacher bites my dog.

This looks like a great book for teaching my kids some useful grammar skills! I always like adverbs because they often answer questions such as how? (or in what way?), when?, where?, why? and to what extent?.

    Jill,

Substitute for, usually with an anticedent–can indicate 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person, singular or plural number, gender, and even case usage.  I am shopwing off.  No one has said a word to me about any pronouns since I retired ten years ago.  Please forgive me for my mental lapse.
