When we arrived at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, the first thing I noticed was the lovely Intercoastal Waterway location. I just love water vistas so I knew I would enjoy my time here.

Service is utmost in this 4 Diamond Hotel. Concierge, valet, housekeeping, and dining staff do things with the style and panache a good European-style luxury hotel demands. My only regret during our stay was missing Chef James Clark’s Waterscape. I did check out its menu though. The flavors of its homemade ice cream were rich, creamy, and unique. Liquid buttermilk never tasted like this.
Three other restaurants, the Anchor Cafe, the Cabana Beach Club, and Reflections complete dining options, Oops! Almost forgot the room service–the best. I was not disappointed with my bananas foster french toast breakfast in bed. I brought its recipe home as a decadent personal souvenir.
The Marina Inn is quiet and elegant. Its Mediterranean architecture is perfect for a magnificent view. Its 2,200 acre setting offers much for the waterfront resort. Golf, tennis, marina, private oceanfront beach standout. Pools, hot tubs, sauna, health club invite. Spa services, pontoon boats, jet skis entice. Want playtime on the lawn? Volleyball, bocce, cricket, frisbee, and ping pong are options. Prefer a quiet moment? Books, movies, games are available.

The lobby is splendid with Italian marble floors, sparkling crystal chandeliers, and oriental art. The 1,800 square foot guest rooms with their 450 square foot terraces are luxuriant stocked with the expected (phone, television, DVD, internet, safe) and the unexpected (imported linens and personal robes). There is even a Business Center available 24/7 just in case some odd traveler need to do any work.
To anyone touring Myrtle Beach it is quickly apparent that Burroughs and Chapin corporation rules here. This developer came up with a winner when it got the idea for Grande Dunes. It is the perfect addition to other commercial real estate and development management properties in South Carolina.
Grande Dunes are amenity-rich planned resort communities designed to give a mobile population luxurious living. If you are going to Myrtle Beach, you really have to see Grande Dunes for yourself. It is advertised as South Carolina’s Coastal Sweet Spot. Decide for yourself. I got a chance to see nearby condos and residence homes. Spanish Revival elegance, ceramic roofing tiles, and designed outdoor spaces make for estates not mere houses. How I would love to own one myself!

Cricket is not a sport I associate with South Carolina.

Love the look, and the luxury ~ but always wondering – about how much does it cost per night for that type of stay?

I’ve never been to Myrtle Beach, but have always wanted to go — I’ll have to keep this place in mind. It looks gorgeous… Is that an infinity pool? It is really pretty!!
