Director Donald Pelrie’s 2003 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days has been released on DVD. This PG-13 movie stars Kate Hudson as Andie Anderson, journalist, and Matthew McConaughey as Benjamin Barry, ad exec.
The plot centers on true intentions, true motives, and ensuing changes. The agenda is plain: Andie’s boss expects her to write a feature on how to lose a guy in ten days. Ben’s boss expects him to have Andie fall in love with him. The plot is built on quips like, “Ready to go for a ride?” and “All’s fair in love and war.” One liners like “Not too fast,” and “I want you to respect me,” are part of the buildup.
In spite of themselves the two succeed in their original agenda. Adorable becomes “You’re so vain.” The couple’s dates for a lobster dinner, basketball game, the movies, dinner at his place, a Cleline Dion concert, poker night, a visit to a faux therapist, a visit to his mom’s, an overnight at his place, a ferry ride back to hers let the two of them show their real person. They part with regrets. Then I’ll let you watch and see how the story works out.
Kate Hudson shows her acting talent. Matthew McConaughey turns is a good performance. I enjoyed watching How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I think that it is a sweet chick flick.

This was a cute movie. They do make an attractive couple. Kate reminds me so much of her mother in her younger days!

I just love Kate Hudson, she reminds me so much of her mom, Goldie Hawn, who I also loved. And Matthew McConaughy is just “eye candy” isn’t he? I could watch either one of them for hours!
