GIFT IDEA – YOU’VE BEEN SENTENCED GAME SYSTEM
About You’ve Been Sentenced
The latest in the evolution of games, “You’ve been Sentenced!” is the first game in history to really turn making sentences into a very funny, playable, and challenging game. Using a unique word deck of pentagon shaped cards containing conjugations of funny words, famous names from throughout history, familiar places, and wild cards, players have to make grammatically correct and justifiable sentences. The real fun begins when players have to read their sentences out loud and explain what they mean to the rest of players. They form the jury and vote thumbs up or down on whether the sentence and justification stand and the points are scored. 540 cards with over 2,500 words insure billions of possible sentences so the game is never repetitive and has unlimited re-play value.
Multiple other methods of play are available on our website that turn “You’ve been Sentenced!” into not just a game, but a full game system! We even have a lesson plan to turn “You’ve Been Sentenced!” into a classroom teaching tool. This game makes learning grammar and sentence construction fun and easy.
Several members of the family actually refused to play the game You’ve Been Sentenced with me citing the fact that I am an English teacher as an UNFAIR advantage. Go figure…. Isn’t English the national language of the USA? So I offered to disqualify myself and be the judge or referee in deciding if a given sentence was grammatically correct. They refused again. This time the excuse was that nobody talks that way. I wish I were back in school teaching. It would have been a great tool in my eighth-grade classes.
I gave up trying, retired to a vacant room, opened the package then started checking out McNeill Designs game plan. It calls Sentenced seriously hilarious, and I must agree. I decided that after I played against myself. The responses make it what it is. It targets gamesters 8+. Easy to learn and quick to play, personality, ingenuity, wit, and time are either on your side or against you.
Three to ten players take ten cards each from the 540 card deck then try to make a sentence using as many words as possible with points and bonus points given for the number of words used. Every sentence must be grammatically correct and, if challenged, justifiable. The game is never the same. You can see a video of a game in play on the website.
You’ve Been Sentenced is available online and in select stores across the nation including B&N, Borders and 1,000’s of independent stores. It lists for $24.95 plus shipping with available add-on decks (Gourmet Cuisine, Pop Culture, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Sports Highlights, and Word Power challenge) an additional $19.95 each.
