GIFT IDEA – THE SNOWMAN’S SONG: A CHRISTMAS STORY

I believe that education begins with books, seeing them, hearing them, then eventually hearing them. I was thrilled when Leaping Antelope productions sent me the children’s book The Snowman’s Song: A Christmas Story together with a bonus audio Cd of the story read by the author.

The Snowman’s Song: A Christmas Story is a life-affirming story of love and faith. This personal and emotional story of how a snowman miraculously and triumphantly receives his longed-for voice will bring the beauty and music of Christmas into your home for years to come.

After reading the story and listening to it again with the background choral music, I decided this was a perfect story that would teach children what this season is all about–love, hope, and faith with some believing in the impossible thrown in. I am glad that I can help give the snowman a voice.

Our young need to hear more about gentle people, compassion, and caring for others as opposed to me first. Customers can buy this book at www.snowmanssong.com. In spirit with the season and giving, for every book purchased, a book will be given to a needy child. What a great way to live the message and the moral of Marilee Mayfield.

This is your personal invitation to witness a miracle this Christmas or any day after because the story works any day, every day, everywhere. A little about the story from the author herself:

Longed-for dreams sometimes come true…A forlorn little snowman hopes, prays and yearns with all his heart for a beautiful melodic voice so he can rejoice by singing Christmas carols just like human children do.

There is little hope that he will ever have a voice, because the snow world is quiet and snowpeople communicate by sensing thoughts and feelings that travel as ice droplets in the swirling cold winter air. But when a cheery red cardinal awakens his mind and a kind young girl renews his hope, a Christmas miracle happens and the little snowman realizes his longed-for dream in a powerful, joyful, unexpected way.

Tracy La Rue Hohn brought the story to life with her beautiful illustrations. Her artwork was worthy of being hung,Each picture truly showed boys and girls story with simplicity and innocence. Just because Christmas is only days away it is not too late. After all there are twelve days in Christmas. Right?

  1. OH GREAT…I would read this and probably SOB. I think you’re right…our kids need to learn more about compassion and faith…holding out for your dreams. Life gets too busy for kids these days and so much of their hearts spent worrying about what others think and keeping up with other kids to fit in. I am gonna look for this in our town library. thanks pat. Looks beautifully illustrated too!

  2. This sounds like an inspiring book. I also love it when authors read their own books. They have insight that no one else can have and that shows in their voices!
