Chef Marjorie’s commitment to sourcing only the best ingredients that local markets have to offer has allowed her to joyfully simmer soup from scratch, capturing seasonal flavors at their peak and creating wholesome, satisfying meals in a bowl. And now you can get Marjorie’s homemade recipes in this new cookbook.
The cookbook is a savory collection of our customers’ favorites. You’ll find recipes for Soup Factory classics like Spicy Chickpea and Butternut Squash. The recipes have easy-to-find ingredients, simple instructions and plenty of mouth-watering photography to showcase how to present each soup. It’s the perfect gift for soup-lovers, out-of-town friends and your own cookbook collection.
Since I had stomach surgery, eating much meat has been difficult. Some would complain but not me. I love soup with a caveat, good homemade soup. New England Soup Factory Cookbook’s 100+ recipes don’t take a chef to make, but they are gourmet treats every gourmet cook should consider trying.
A variety of rich stocks, soups, chowders, old world meals in a bowl, childhood favorites, and cold soups are there along with sumptuous sandwiches and salads. I never have followed recipes closely until now. I do it the way my mother once did long ago with a pinch of this, a dab of that, a handful of something else. However, recipes are so simple to follow, why not attempt them as written maybe?
I love the personal inscription authors Marjorie and Clara included with their autographs, “Feed your body well!” I always did; I still do but differently–making better choices and with moderation.
Right now as as I sit here blogging, a pot of Clear and Rich Chicken Stock is on the stove simmering. Other planned endeavors for the days that follow include Vidalia Onion Soup, Cheddar-Corn Chowder with Bacon and Scallions, Pasta Fagioli Soup with Ditalini, Alphabet Soup, Chilled Beet and Raspberry Soup, Day Boat Sandwiches, and California Cobb Salad–all explained step by step. Yum!
