THis is a GREAT idea! My kids didnt get to see their relatives much, so this would have been nice to use as a picture book for them. THey always needed a "warming up" -period to get used to them again with each visit. AND now our little grandkids dont get to see US often so this would be helpful for them!

When my kids were little, even with the first 2 who are now 27 and 28, I would search for real life picture books instead of cartoonish illustrations. I know they learned about the world easier and learned how to talk faster than others because of this.

Am sorry to hear about your grandson. It IS heartbreaking. I hope he has many tools given to him to help him advance...there are so many new things out there with technology now. I have a cousin with Downs and his life has been hard...his parents life hard, but he is a HAPPY person and has been taught to be productive. I also have a daughter who has learning and social issues and is a struggle to get through each grade. It is disheartening to think about what her life might be like, job, future family situations, etc. God knows and WE know she will be OK and we just keep plugging away!!!
YOu are right, Pat. We ALL have limitations of some sort.

What a precious and one-of-a-kind gift this would make. You'd never have to ask: Do you have this already?
