I just listened to the CD Funky Kidz. I liked it so much the first time around that I popped it into my player again. New Orleans’ Finest did an excellent job putting this album together. The songs are upbeat with that French Quarter flavor and flair. The musicians in Preservation Hall must be smiling. You are sure to enjoy this one of you have an ear for music and expect musicians to do more than play synthesizers, drums, and guitars.
Funky Kidz is a music class in itself. The finest (Bonerama, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Papa Grows Funk, Paul Sanchez, George Porter, Jr., Theresa Andersson, The Radiators, Walter “Wolfman” Washington and the Roadmasters, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, Ingrid Lucia, and Amanda Shaw and the Cuter Guys) all give signature performances. The songs come out with positive messages like hope, work, not quitting. They are happy ones centering on wonderful days, God’s power, and America’s greatness. They are playful, rhythmic, and fun.

All time fave: Hokey Pokey. Not only do I have wonderful memories of doing this while roller skating, but my daughters also did this song when they were in Parent/Child swimming classes.
