Fancy Fortune Cookie Review And Giveaway

The little girl who thrilled at having her fortune written into a cookie still enjoys breaking one open more than a half century later. Too often she thought when nibbling on the after-dinner treat, “Ugh. This is more like cardboard than dessert. It’s tasteless.”

Some personalized fortune cookies drew my attention immediately and the company was gracious in sending me a bag to review. Back in my college days, I actually stuffed some fortune cookies to let a friend know how I felt. I got professional advice how to do my own once again: Just pop a fortune cookie in the microwave for about 10 seconds and that softens it up enough to slip the message out and put a new one in.

Now last night things were really going on–Fourth of July Fireworks in the city, a housewarming for a newly engaged couple, a birthday, and a farewell party for someone returning to duty after a short leave. So we broke out the bag of signature rainbow colored cookies.

The cookies were a great ice-breaker and a big success. As Cherry Bliss, Horseshoe Blue(berry), Luscious Lemon, Oh Wow Orange, Passion Fruit Punch, Very Berry Raspberry, Sun-Ripened Strawberry, Cool Cappuccino, Toasted Cocoanut, Double Chocolate, and Minty Mint got passed around the room, everyone laughed, bit in, and made obligatory comments including “Where did you get these? What is this really? Hey, this is fruity. Listen to this proverb. Different, colorful, sweet.”

All in all there are seventeen different flavors. I have more to try but for the moment mine is green as in peppermint. They have been featured on PBS Mr. Rogers. Celebs like The Don and Oprah have ordered them as party favors.
